Manohar reviews road, bridge projects

JAMMU, July 12:  Minister of State for Cooperatives Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today reviewed the progress of various projects being executed under R&B sector in Kathua district especially in Billawar constituency.
Chief Engineer R&B Tehsin Mustafa, XEN PWD (R&B) K. S. Nathyal, XEn PWD Division, Basohli and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting had a detailed review on various issues which mainly related to timely completion of projects under NABARD, district and state sector, renovation of existing road works including black-topping, completion of cost overrun schemes of NABARD, detail review of existing ongoing schemes and directions issued to speed-up quality improvement and timely completion of NABARD schemes.
The Minister issued direction to handover the Dayalachak-Challan road to GREF besides clearing the pending liabilities. The Minister also reviewed bridge projects like Mangloor, Dhannu Parole, Uchapind, Beri nallah bridge, Katni-Malhar bridge and directed the executing agencies for quality and timely completion of all the projects.
He asked the concerned agencies to ensure completion of Mandli-Kohag and Dingi Simbli-Rampur Rasool road at the earliest. The Minister had detailed assessment of various roads namely Garmari, Amala Dhalou, KP Kandi, Dayalachak-Challan and Katli road from XEn, PWD Kathua. He also took stock of construction of bridge at Preya Nallah Kasheed, Katli Marhoon road,  Katli Dera Gali and Malhar road.
