Manya’s century guides J&K to 141-run win over Sikkim

JAMMU, Jan 6: A brilliant century by Manya Banotra, along with a solid half-century from skipper Shambhavi Rajput, helped Jammu and Kashmir secure a massive 141-run victory over Sikkim in the ongoing Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy at Garware Cricket Ground, Aurangabad, today.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, J&K posted a formidable total of 280/3 in 50 overs. Manya Banotra led the charge, scoring a magnificent 134 runs off 125 balls, including 14 boundaries. Shambhavi Rajput contributed a steady 67 runs off 94 balls, with 7 boundaries, while Bhagya Lakshmi Jamwal remained unbeaten on 48 runs off 56 balls.
In response, Sikkim was bundled out for 139 runs in 39.1 overs. Niranjana was the top scorer for Sikkim with 48 runs, while Sabita and Diksha contributed 25 and 19 runs, respectively.
J&K’s bowlers dominated the chase, with Sania Slathia claiming 3 wickets for 27 runs in 8.1 overs. Reyanshu Rani picked up 2 wickets, while Manya Banotra, Ananya Dogra, and Mahika Singh Rana each took a wicket. The win showcased J&K’s dominant performance under the leadership of Head Coach Ms. Lone Summayah, further strengthening their position in the Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy.
