Marathon organized to spread awareness on drug abuse

JAMMU, Oct 2: All J&K Christian Sabha and Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar in collaboration with Directorate of Jammu Tourism and J&K Sports Council held a Marathon run against drug abuse, here today.
Rajinder Sharma, Jammu Mayor was chief guest on this occasion who flagged off the Marathon. “The Marathon Run against drug abuse represents a community coming together to address a pressing issue that affects us all. By participating in this event, individuals are not only supporting a healthier lifestyle but also sending a powerful message against drug abuse.” He said.
Shaheen Wahid, Superintendent of Police (South) also motivated the youth to stay away from bad habits and urged civil society to join hands to fight together. Anissa Nabi, Mohd. Hanief, Abdul Jabbar among other officers also participated. Civil Society leaders Rev. Vijay Kumar (Presbyter CNI), Rev. Fr. Varkey, R. K. Kalsotra, Ranjit Singh and Jaspal Singh among many others also joined the run.
The organizers of Marathon Ashu Peter Mattoo (President All J&K Christian Sabha) and Rev. Fr. Jafat Masih (Director Youth Commission, Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar) encouraged the participants and distributed gratitude Certificates.
