JAMMU, Feb 4: The family members of BSF martyr Jagdish Chandra of Gurha Patan- a border village were honoured with ‘Operational Casualty Certificate’ by Border Security Force (BSF) 46th Battalion Commandant, here today.
Both Commandant Satish Kumar Shastri, Second in Command, Madhav Chaturvedi and Deputy Commandant, Kuldeep Choudhary handed over the Operational Causality Certificate to the family members of the Martyr.
Subhash Chander, son of martyr Jagdish Chandra who is serving in 46 Battalion Border Security Force was also present during the event.
Martyr Jagdish Chandra joined the BSF in the year 1966 and sacrificed his life in the year 1981 while protecting the nation. The Officers of the 46th battalion were thanked by the family of Late Jagdish Chandra for being honoured by the Border Security Force.
A large number of dignitaries including Block Development Chairman Bhalwal Kuldeep Raj, former Chairman Jang Bahadur, Ex Inspector Sukhdev Singh of Border Security Force and retired Army officers were present on the occasion.
