HAMIRPUR: Mortal remains of martyr Subedar Shashi Kumar Sharma, who laid down his life during firing in Naushehra Punna sector of Jammu and Kashmir on July 18, were consigned to flames at his native Galol village in the district today.
His son lit the pyre in presence of hundreds of people present there. A company of 9 Corps from Jalandhar gave gun salute to the martyr at the crematorium.
Earlier, his body was brought to his native village by road as it was not possible for the Army to bring it by air due to bad weather prevailing in the district. (AGENCIES)
