UDHAMPUR, Apr 20: Birth anniversary of Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, was observed with devotion and patriotic fervor by Martyr Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust, here today.
Heartfelt tributes were paid to the martyr who sacrificed his life for the motherland. A function was held at Army Public School here in which Major General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is imperative to honor our heroes especially the martyrs who have laid down their lives for safeguarding the nation as it imbibes a sense of patriotism and linkage to ones country. He added that his courage, devotion and sacrifice for the nation will always be remembered and keep inspiring all of us.
Earlier a wreath laying ceremony was held at statue of the martyr at T-Morh where hundreds of people paid rich floral tribute to brave heart.
On the occasion, chief guest along with Chairman of the Trust, Dev Raj Gupta honoured 10 Martyr families hailing from different parts of the country and remembered the supreme sacrifice made by them for the country. Documentary of their valour was also shown on this occasion.
Former MLA, Udhampur, Pawan Gupta, Chairman Udhampur Municipal Council, Dr Yogeshwar Gupta, school children and families of martyrs were present on the occasion. Pawan Gupta also spoke on the occasion and paying glowing tributes to the martyrs who have laid down their lives while safeguarding the country and fighting the antinational elements.
Secretary of Tushar Memorial Trust, Shewatketu Singh described Tushar Mahajan an intrepid Army Special Forces Officer who was also an exceptional diver and had been commissioned into a Special Forces Battalion in 2010. He made supreme sacrifice on February 22, 2016 when he stormed into the building of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute at Pampore in Kashmir to take on the terrorists who were hiding there after attacking a CRPF convoy.
