BHADERWAH, Mar 23: A week long Martyrs memorial Cricket tournament, organised by Police under Civic Action Programme (CAP), concluded at Govt. Degree College, here today.
The tournament was organised in the memory of Police martyrs who have laid down their lives for the integrity and sake of the nation.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, was the chief guest, whereas the tournament was hosted by SSP Abdul Qayoom, wherein 18 teams from Bhaderwah area participated.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Police has been organizing a number of sports events every year under Civic Action Programme (CAP) to provide opportunities to the youth in the field of sports besides channelizing their energy in positive directions.
The final match of the tournament was played between Revive Cricket Club Bhaderwah and Youth Cricket Club Bhaderwah which was won by the team of Youth Cricket Club Bhaderwah. The winning team was given a cash prize of Rs. 22000 and the runners up team got Rs. 11000 besides best players, bowlers and emerging players were also felicitated by the chief guest.
