Massive protests against terror attacks continue

JAMMU, June13: After back to back four militant attacks in Jammu province,Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) held a massive protest and condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu region.
During protest YRS president, Vikram Singh (Vicky) along with former presidents, Rajan Singh (Happy) and Rajveer Singh along with Core Committee members and all stakeholders showed their anger and strongly condemned the activities and targeted killing of civilians in Jammu province.
YRS raised slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai “ and “Pakistan  Murdabad” at Press Club here and burnt the  flag and effigy of Pakistan and said that Pakistan has been trying to disturbed the peace in J&K.
While addressing media Vikram Singh said that why Central administration and UT administration are silent on these terrorism activities, as it seems that the era of nineties has returned and the situation which was in Kashmir at that time is now in Jammu.
Rajan Singh demanded issue of weapons and renewal of the license of weapons so that the people on their own can take on terrorists and teach them and their harbourers a lesson.
Expressing serious concerns over the continuous spread of terror activities including in Jammu city, Congress has asked the Government to control terrorism at all costs while rejecting suggestions to further delay the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reacting strongly to reports of the presence of terrorists in Jammu city too, the party’s working president, Raman Bhalla and senior vice president and media in charge, Ravinder Sharma termed the situation quite alarming and worrisome. Extending full support to the security forces and solidarity with the people, the Congress leaders termed it very serious threatening the safety and security of common people. They said there is atmosphere of fear and demanded adequate measures to instil confidence.
Appealing people to be alert and pass on all relevant information to the police and forces, they questioned the Government for the failure of its security arrangements.
All Parties Untied Morcha (APUM) peace activists and civil society members in Jammu also showed their serious concern over the increasing terrorist incidents in Jammu region during last five days.
APUM leaders and activists of other bodies including Sheikh Abdul Rehman, Ravinder Sharma, Rattan Lal Gupta, Manish Sawhney, Com Subash Mehta, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Com Sukhdev Singh, Com Ashwani Kumar, Master Hari Singh, I D Khajuria, Manohar Lal, Kuldeep Singh, Virender Singh and others questioned the sudden and series of incidents of terror attacks on civilians in entire Jammu region.
Showing their concern they said that terrorists have increased their activities on the eve of holy Amarnath Ji Yatra and Assembly elections which is worrisome.
To protest against the increasing terror incidents the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena led by Ashok Gupta held a protest rally here today and torched the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister by holding the neighbouring country responsible for these attacks.
Ashok Gupta warned that the people will not allow playing politics on the issue and no compromise with national security will be acceptable. He urged Government to take strict measures in restoring shattered confidence of the people.
Another protest was held by Mission Statehood led by Sunil Dimple its president here, today.
Dimple demanded stringent measures to be taken and urged the police to install pickets on the flyover from Bus Stand , Jewel Chowk up to Gandhi Nagar and also maintaining strict vigil on National Highway and other routes to check the activities of terrorists. He further demanded constitution of Village Defence Groups (VDGs) in entire border belt of Jammu right from Kathua to Poonch and also in hilly reaches of Jammu region on war footing basis.
