JAMMU, Dec 9: May Fair Schools Chand Nagar, Chinore and Janipur branches hosted Avantika Atal Samman function and Inter School Folk Dance Competition at May Fair International School, Laxmi Puram Chinore, Bantalab here in collaboration with Avantika, a group of contemporary artists and intellectuals–a New Delhi based NGO.
Galaxy of dignitaries were present on the occasion along with the Principals and students from leading schools of Jammu.
Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K graced the occasion as the chief guest, Gourav Gupta Secretary Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bharat Bhushan Gupta Director Citizen Cooperative Bank Private Limited and Ram Khajuria President, Tawi Trekkers were the special guests.
Dr Anand Aggarwal National Director Avantika was the presiding guest while Vijay Basur Chairperson May Fair Schools, Anita Basur, Secretary May Fair Schools, Sandeep Sharma, Radhika Basur and Abhey Basur Management Committee Members May Fair Schools, HS Jamwal Commissioner Avantika and ML Abrol President Anatika were also present on the occasion.
More than 30 students from various reputed schools of Jammu Province participated in this Competition. The function began with lighting of the traditional lamp followed by welcome song by students of May Fair International School. Participants from different schools exhibited their talent during the Folk Dance Competition which enthralled the audience.
In Inter School Folk Dance Competition from Senior and Junior Category, first position was scored by Tannu Baloria, Vanshika, Vishal and Mehak Sharma, while second Position was clinched by Lakshmi, Aishwarya, Tavishi, Nakul, Manasvani, Karanpreet, Reena and Ayushman and third position was scored by Mehak Ruba, Antra, Akriti, Bhumi, Vivek and Rekha Kumari.
Principals of May Fair Schools, Cynosural International Elementary School, Dogra Higher Secondary School, Viraj Bal Bhawan , Nav Yug Higher Secondary School, Krishna Public School, New Leadership Foundation School, Neel Kamal High School, Sri Sai Public School, Paramount Convent School, Nav Vidyalya and many other Schools were honoured with Avantika Atal Samman (Atal Bihari Avantika National Award) and winner students of Folk Dance Competition were honoured by the distinguished guests.
In the end, Vijay Basur Chairperson May Fair Schools presented vote of thanks.
