JAMMU, Apr 18: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta today toured areas of Nasib Nagar, Janipur Housing Colony, Buta Nagar etc of Ward number 38 and took stock of various problems being faced by the general public of these areas.
The JMC Mayor was accompanied by Corporator Surinder Sharma, XEn (UEED) Taj Chowdhary, Health Officer of JMC Dr Saleem Khan, XEn PHE, Transport Officer of JMC and other officers of various departments. People of the area put forth many problems and demands including de-silting of drain and nallahs, better sanitation, proper fogging, lifting of stray animals, plugging of leakage water pipes and providing neat, clean and sufficient water in their ward during the summer season and also renovation/construction of nallah flowing through their ward in proper way.
Chander Mohan Gupta directed the concerned officers on spot to resolve the issues raised by the inhabitants of Ward number 38 on war footing.
Later, the Mayor also convened a meeting of sanitary supervisors at Town Hall Jammu. Vikas Sharma, Commissioner JMC and Dr Saleem Khan, Health Officer also attended the meeting. The Mayor directed all the sanitary supervisors to work in their respective wards with more dedication and hard work in order to improve sanitation of the city.
On the occasion, sanitary supervisors also put forth their demands such as regularization of their colonies, establishment of Municipal sub office in each ward, early release of 2 ½ days salary, timely disbursing of salaries of daily wager Safai Karamcharis and clearance of their welfare fund file.
Mayor assured sanitary supervisors that their genuine demands will be resolved at an earliest.
