JAMMU, Nov 7: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) witnessed an Inter-house Drill competition which was organised at Drill Square Sainik School, Nagrota, near here today.
Rajinder Sharma, JMC Mayor presided over the event and gave away the prizes and trophies to the winners. Capt (IN) AK Desai, Principal formally welcomed the chief guest and presented a brief on the significance of Drill competition conducted at the School.
The Principal mentioned that the competition is a much awaited and sharply contested event as each house tried to display its marching prowess and win the coveted trophy. The cadets also take this opportunity to exhibit their power of command and crispness of parade drill movements on the ground.
The cadets participated in this competition in junior and senior categories from four houses namely Sindh, Jhelum, Chenab and Trikuta. Junior House consists of cadets upto Class IX and senior house consists of Classes X to XII.
Commending the spirited performance of cadets in this competition, the Mayor himself being an alumnus of this Institution, recounted his school days as a cadet with euphoria and expressed confidence that such competitions are the unique hallmark of Sainik School Nagrota.
The Trikuta House won the Drill competition in the senior category, while Chenab House stood first in the junior category.
