MBWU demands proper stands, terminals

JAMMU, Aug 1: A deputation of Mini Bus Workers Union (MBWU) led by its chairman, Anil Chopra, called on SSP Traffic, Uhay Bhaskar, to discuss various problems faced by transporters.
Union chairman apprised the SSP Traffic that main cause of traffic jams in Jammu city and its adjoining areas is due to lack of proper stands and terminal points. He said that in order to overcome problems of traffic jams and difficulties to the passengers travelling by mini buses has necessitated providing of stands and terminal points. He demanded that proper spots be indentified for stands and terminals for maintaining smooth flow of traffic.
The union members assured SSP Traffic that mini bus operators will maintain discipline while plying their vehicles on different routes and cooperate with traffic department and traffic enforcing agencies. It was also assured that proper uniform would be used by operators of mini buses and stop their vehicles only on identified spots and also restrict playing of loud music to avoid noise pollution and mishaps, which usually take place due to negligence of operators while listening to the music.
