KATHUA, Jan 12: Manwal Cricket Club (MCC) crushed Sammar Cricket Club (SCC) by a huge margin of 82 runs and registered berth in the next round of the ongoing 5th Police Martyr Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship at sports stadium, here today.
After winning the toss, MCC elected to bat first and scored 119 runs for all out in 18.4 overs. Mandeep Singh scored 32 runs in 26 balls and Shanty contributed 24 runs. Dhruv made 13 runs.
For SCC side, Kamal Kishore, Sourav and Dilbag Singh scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, SCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at paltry 37 runs for all out in 12.4 overs. Raman made 14 runs.
For MCC side, Chahat was the pick of the bowler with 5 wickets, whereas Deepak took 3 wickets.
Chahat of MCC was declared as man of the match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs 1000 and a trophy.
The match was officiated by Rajesh Gupta, Anoop Sharma and Ompal Singh, whileas the scoreboard was maintained by Kulbhushan Singh and KV Singh.
The tournament is being jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua in the memory of Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh and other brave hearts of J&K Police.
