JAMMU, Mar 4: Malik Cricket Club (MCC) registered a thrilling win over Friends Cricket Club (FCC) to move into the next round of the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, FCC scored a modest total of 107 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Ricky top scored with 23 runs, while Deepu and Ankur contributed 16 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For MCC, Yaseen and Ankur took 2 wickets each, while Rahul, Zaffar and Hamid claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, MCC scored the required runs in a thrilling contest on the penultimate ball of the match by losing 7 wickets to win the match by 3 wickets. Rakesh (25), Arun (24) and Arif (23) were the main contributers. Ricky bagged 2 wickets, while Deepu, Rishab and Abhi claimed one wicket each. Ankush of MCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Surinder and Pinku as umpires, while Rahul acted as scorer.
Tawi Sports Club will take on Siddhant Cricket Academy, while Wave Cricket Club will take on Evershine Club in tomorrow’s fixture at the same venue.
