Jammu, June 25: Media-XI today defeated the Hindi Newspapers-XI by a margin of 36 runs in the friendly cricket match which was played at Railway Ground here.
After winning the toss, Media-XI team led by Yash Khajuria decided to bat first.
In 16 overs match, the team registered a total score of 137 with highest 46 runs inning of Sunil Thappa in 22 balls. The second highest scorer of the team was Ashu, who made 24 runs in 14 balls.
Takdeer Singh and Naveen of Hindi Newspapers-XI took two wickets each for the team.
Chasing the target, the Hindi Newspapers-XI team could score only 101 runs in 16 overs.
Nitin was the highest scorer with 26 runs in 23 balls, while Rupesh was the second highest scorer with 19 runs.
Rahul of Media-XI took two wickets for the team.
Sunil Thappa was declared as Man of the Match for his exceptional 46 runs’ inning in 22 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
