JAMMU, June 23: Rahul Khatri’s all-round show helped Media XI to beat J&K Police XI in a thriller at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
Earlier, J&K Police XI led by SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh after winning the toss and batting first managed to post a challenging total of 175 runs. Sunil and Khyati scored 38 runs each, while Tejinder scored 25 runs to the total. For Media XI, Rahul Khatri was the wrecker-in- chief, taking 4/22 in his 4 overs. Yash Khajuria also scalped 2/16, while Dev, Pankaj and Sunil Bali shared one wicket apiece.
In reply, Vivek Suri led Media XI chased the target on the last ball of the innings to win the match in an exciting contest by 6 wickets. Sachin Singh top scored with 38 runs, while Sunil Bali, Dev Thakur, Amit Kumar amd Rahul Khatri contributed 38, 25, 19 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Rahul Khatri was declared as the man of the match for his splendid all-round display.
