Medical employees stage dharna

POONCH, Mar 8: In continuation to its series of protest dharnas in every district of J&K, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today staged a day-long protest dharna in the premises of CMO office, Poonch.
A large number of medical employees from all over the district assembled in the premises of CMO office under the leadership of JKMEF State president, Sushil Sudan and raised slogans in support of their demands which include conducting DPC of all categories, enhancement of retirement age of para medical staff at par with doctors, release of salaries of employees working under Head 2211 FW and enhancement of posts of District Pharmacy Officer and Block Pharmacy Officer.
The protesting employees were also demanding enhancement of FTA from Rs 45 to Rs 2000 per month, creation of posts of SO and Head Assistants in Block Headquarters and CMO offices,  removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, amendment of SRO 20 pending from last two decades and posting of Supervisory Nurses in all district Hospitals by way of DPC.
While addressing the protesting employees, Sushil Sudan said that despite repeated reminders and memorandum submitted to the higher authorities, no action has been taken to fulfill their demands and therefore they are forced to choose to the path of agitation. He said if their demands are still not fulfilled, the agitation will be intensified.
