Medical shop owner arrested for selling masks on exorbitant rates

JAMMU, Feb 25: Gandhi Nagar police arrested a medical shop owner for selling swine-flu masks (N95) on exorbitant rates.
As per police sources, some people approached police station Gandhi Nagar with a complaint that Sudan Medical Hall, opposite Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar is selling the masks on exorbitant rates.
Acting on the complaint, a police team in civil uniform visited the shop and found that the shopkeeper was selling the masks on exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
Police team arrested the shopkeeper on the spot, who has been identified as Rashpaul Singh, son of Raghuveer Singh, a resident of Ward Number 1 Simble Camp.
The team also seized 25 swine flu masks (N95) and sent the same to forensic lab to test their authenticity.
A case under FIR number 48/15 under Section 420 RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, Incharge SP South Uday Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
