RAJOURI, Sept 29: The police today booked a Medico and four others in connection with the abortion of a young girl here today.
The police swung into action after it came to know about the matter. It was learnt that a doctors from the Local Government Hospital managed the abortion of a 24-year old girl, Shagufta (name changed), daughter of one Murabat Hussain of Darhal area. The condition of the girl deteriorated as she was bleeding continuously. She was brought to the Government Hospital, Rajouri. The Medical staff there came to know about the matter.
The police was informed by a staff member about the incident. The girl and her parents were later removed to Police Station after treatment. The girl also disclosed the name of person who developed physical relations with her. The police registered a case FIR No. 532/2012 in this connection and started investigation.
A senior police official said that abortion is totally banned and it has been learnt that a doctor of Rajouri Hospital was involved. He said investigation has been started into the case. He however, refused to divulge the name of the Medico.
