Mega Dangal event ends at Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, Oct 14: The scenic town of Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir came alive as the much-anticipated three-day Mega Dangal event concluded with great enthusiasm. Organized by the NGO Youth Action Committee in collaboration with the District Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and the Army, the event was a grand celebration of strength, sportsmanship and tradition.
The Dangal featured participants from across the nation and was graced by Colonel Yogesh Chauhan, Commanding Officer of the 4 Rashtriya Rifles, as the guest of honour. Alongside him were other dignitaries, including Bal Krishan, CEO of the Bhaderwah Development Authority, and SP Bhaderwah Vinod Sharma, enhancing the event’s prestige.
Dozens of athletes showcased their wrestling skills in front of an enthusiastic crowd of approximately 15,000 spectators. The highlight of the event was the match for the Choti Maali title, where Murad Ali triumphed over Shakti Thapa from Nepal. Additionally, Nadeem Bhaleesi emerged victorious in the final for the prestigious Badi Maali title against Sonu from Himachal Pradesh.
The Dangal was not just a sporting event but also a cultural celebration, fostering unity among participants and spectators alike. The success of this Mega Dangal positioned Bhaderwah as a hub for traditional sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
