SRINAGAR, Apr 1: Mehboob-ul-Alam T20 Cricket tournament got underway at HMT, Zainakote, here today.
Abid Pathan inaugurated the tournament in presence of other dignitaries and social activists.
A total of 16 teams are participating in this fortnight-long cricket tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pathan said that it is always difficult to organise big sporting events without the support of corporate sector.
Shabir Ahmad Shah, chairman of Mehboob-ul-Alam Sports club said that such events apart from providing opportunity to the youth in showcasing their skill, also promote sports culture in the State.
