JAMMU, Apr 8: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat today strongly condemned former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for issuing seditious and highly provocative statements every other day. He was reacting to Mehbooba’s statement made the other day in which she said, “The Flag hoisting order reflects a sense of insecurity on part of the Government of India.”
The BJP leader, while castigating the former Chief Minister said that the fact remains that Mehbooba is nowadays feeling most insecure and irrelevant in the political scene of J&K due to her party people especially the stalwarts resigning from her party every other day. She herself is seeing with her eyes that her party has totally shattered.
Bhagat especially pointed towards resignations of all senior leaders from the party during the last two years due to autocratic style of functioning of Mehbooba. He said that PDP has lost its relevance under the leadership of Mehbooba.
The senior BJP leader said that the statements issued by her these days are the result of utter frustration due to fear on account of enforcement agencies initiating legal action against the politicians who on one front was ruling the State and on other front was also helping the separatists to promote anti India agenda.
Bhagat regretted that a person who governed the erstwhile State of J&K under the Indian Constitution till yesteryears now says that dissent and disagreement have become a crime in the country particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. Most probably after being deserted by her party colleagues and rejected by people even in her own constituency she feels that by issuing such statements she would garner sympathy of the people. Being aware of her close aide who has been exposed by investigating agency for funding the separatists, most probably she feels that such statements would also deter the Enforcement Agencies from initiating action against her in case her involvement surfaces in the secret funding.
The former Minister also rubbished the allegations of Mehbooba Mufti whereby she stated that the Government is coming up with new laws to suppress the voices that are expressing disagreement. He asserted that the people in this Union Territory are presently enjoying full freedom under the Indian Constitution and it is only leaders like Mehbooba Mufti and ilk who feel choked due to their failure in promoting Pak and separatist agenda, besides having totally lost the ground at grass-roots level.
