JAMMU, Sept 2: Men Under-19 of Jammu region who were recently selected for upcoming BCCI National Championship to attend the Cricket coaching camp at JKCA Cricket Stadium Sonwar from September 5.
The camp is scheduled to be held at Srinagar for male probable from tomorrow at above mentioned venue but due to restrictions imposed in the Valley after the death of separatist leader and former chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G), the probable of Jammu will attend the camp from Sunday, while Kashmir based probable will be taking part as per the schedule, announced by the JKCA.
As per the officials communiqué, issued by JKCA that the 24 shortlisted probable were dispatched today morning in a JKCA Volvo Bus for Srinagar, accompanied by Ravi Sharma- former Ranji player but had to return from Udhampur as no further movement was allowed by the Traffic Police towards Srinagar.
These players were flagged off from the Main Gate of MAM Stadium by Ashwani Gupta, Member CAC and the staff members of JKCA for the scheduled camp which will start at JKCA Cricket Stadium Sonwar from September 3 to 15.
“To train and select the final list of 20 players each of Men and Women under-19 teams to represent the National Championship being organized by BCCI at Indore and Bhubaneswar respectively from September 20 to October 18, the JKCA had planned separate camps at Jammu and Srinagar for the men & women teams,” said Brig Anil Gupta, Member Administration JKCA.
“The women’s camp is already under progress at Hostel Ground, Jammu. However, due to the prevailing situation in Srinagar, the men’s camp is likely to get delayed but the players will continue their practice at Jammu itself under the supervision of Ravi Sharma, ” he said.
The list of 24 probable from Jammu including Vanshaj Sharma, Arya Suvansh Thakur, Akshay Sharma, Damanpreet Singh, Yuvraj Saini, Akshit Gandral, Asrarul Gani, Ishan Bali, Arnav Gupta, Dhruv Singh Parmar, Jasvir Singh, Manit Jasrotia, Shubh Badwal, Mohd Naveed, Dinesh, Vanshaj Sharma, Prabhjot Singh, Vishal Kumar, Praful Dhar, Nityam Abrol, Abhay Tandon, Sahil Nasir, Ridhyam Sharma. Uday Pratap Singh who was selected as a probable withdrew from the team at the last moment citing personal reasons. Hence, in his place first reserve Gursimar Singh was included in the list of 24 probable, informed Brig Gupta.
The list of 24 probable from Kashmir including Tabish Nissar, Zahid Mufti, Salman Bakshi, Abdul Bari, Owais Lone, Mohd Junaid Dhar, Abdul Mateen, Saquib-Al Waqar, Taukeer, Tajamul Hussain, Basit Bashir, Yasir Rashid, Talib Rafiq, Aqib Nabi, Shakir Latif, Azhar Amin, Zaid Fazil, Mohd Hurrier, Hatim Riyaz, Museeb Iqbal, Ranjot Singh, Ubaid Hameed, Akash Ayub Bhatt and Danish Hilal.
