MENDHAR, Apr 25: Outplaying Raja Club by 6 points in a closely fought summit clash Mendhar Club lifted the title of the Mendhar Shahidi Diwas Kabaddi Tournament, organized by the local community with the support of the Army at the OP Hill Stadium, here.
The see saw battle between the two teams saw the players displaying exquisite skills, with Mendhar Club, eventually winning by 106-100.
The event which was conducted to commemorate the Mendhar Shahidi Diwas had begun on April 23, 2018 and saw wide spread enthusiastic participation of youth from areas of Mendhar Tehsil including
Chattral, Harni, Nakamanjhari, Salwah, Pathaateer and Mendhar.
The chief guest on the occasion gave away prizes to the winners, runners-up teams and the organizing committee.
Prominent amongst those present were Commanding Officer of local Mendhar Battalion Rayaz Tanatry SDPO, Mendhar Senior Lecture Mohd Amlam and MS Nazki, President Press Council of Mendhar Poonch.
The locals thanked the Army for this noble initiative to reach out to the youth.
