Mentha oil trades lower in futures on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Aug 30:  Mentha oil prices fell 0.65 per cent to Rs 914.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing levels, driven by a weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Adequate stocks position in the physical market due to increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 6, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 914.70 per kg in business turnover of 40 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September shed Rs 3.60, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 931.90 per kg in 414 lots.
Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at current levels, driven by a weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate supplies mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
