JAMMU, May 3: Taking a dig over BJP leaders, who are arranging meals for Dalits and even spending night time with them through their Dalit BJP activists throughout the country, State president, All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organizations, RK Kalsotra, today said that merely arranging meals and talking with Dalits is not a solution to problems of this deprived community.
“If BJP leaders are really sympathizers of Dalits, they should give them reservation in employment, promotions, trading, business, education, land and in other fields in Government. Merely arranging meals and talking with them is not a solution and it realizes them of their lower standard”, kalsotra said in a statement.
He alleged that in three years of PDP-BJP ruling in J&K, nothing special has been done by the Government for Dalits; instead Government has reversed the policies by taking back reservation in promotions, delayed scholarships given to poor SCs and even Special Component Plan has been withdrawn.
