JAMMU, Mar 27: With an aim to boost the morale of wards of martyr, retired and serving police personnel, Police Headquarters J&K sanctioned meritorious scholarships under different welfare schemes.
Continuing with their efforts to promote the meritorious wards of police personnel, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rs 3.38 lakh in favour of 55 wards of serving police personnel who have secured 80 per cent and above marks in the annual examination of Class 12th during the academic session 2017-18 out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Rs 7200 each has been sanctioned in favour of 7 students who have secured more than 90 per cent marks while forty-eight students who have secured 80 per cent and above marks has been given Rs 6000 each . Out of these 55 students 31 are girls.
During the current year till date over Rs 11.69 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 205 wards of serving police personnel who have achieved merits in the annual examination of class 10th, 12th and post graduate for the session 2017-18. Similarly for the 8 wards of SPOs, meritorious scholarship has been sanctioned who secured 80 per cent and above marks in the annual examination of class 10th and 12th for the session 2017-18.
