JAMMU, July 25: MES Builders Association of India (Jammu Unit), organised a seminar on implementation of GST on works contracts here today.
Additional Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Department , J&K, Anu Malhotra was the chief guest and Rakesh Gupta, Chartered Accountant was the guest of honour. Gupta gave the presentation on the implementation of GST and explained the various features and provisions of the GST Act with special reference to works contracts.
Addl Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and the CTOs Neeraj Sharma and Arvind Sawhney replied to the queries of the builders and cleared their doubts and apprehensions regarding the new GST Act.
Arvind Gupta senior vice chairman MESBAI Jammu branch chaired the seminar and V M Goyal Hony secy conducted the proceedings. About 200 builders all over the State and from Pathankote area attended the program. Builders were of the opinion that Toll Tax at Lakhanpur should be abolished so that full advantage of GST could be made available to all in the State. HC Bhatia presented vote of thanks.
