JAMMU, Oct16: A general body meeting of MES workers working at different locations in Jammu region was held today at MES Colony near KV-1, Akhnoor under the chairmanship of Narinder Kumar Dubey.
The meeting was also addressed by Sham Parsad Kesar, Senior Leader & Jagdish Sharma, Secretary of State Committee of CITU. In the meeting it was decided to constitute a Union namely MES Defence Workers Union -Jammu in order to protect and safe guard their Constitutional rights thereafter office bearers and working committee members of the Union were elected.
Dev Raj, Sanjeev Kumar and Parshotam Singh were appointed as president, general secretary and joint secretary respectively, Vijay Kumar was elected as cashier.
Similarly Surinder Kumar, Pushpinder Kumar, Tara Chand, Sanjay Kumar were elected as vice president and Mohinder Singh has been made as office secretary. Further, Mohinder Singh, Harbans Lal, Suresh Kumar, Narinder Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Darshan Lal, Madan Lal, Francis, Harbans, Subhash Chander, Dwarka Nath Tara Chand and Bodh Raj were unanimously elected as Working Committee members. A resolution was also placed before the meeting to affiliate the Union with State Committee CITU which was later passed.
