MIER celebrates 88th Foundation Day

JAMMU, Feb 5: Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) commemorated its 88th Foundation Day by paying heartfelt homage to the institute’s founders, HL Gupta and Shanti Gupta. A tribute was also paid to former chairman, Dr Arun Gupta, a visionary leader and an inspiration for the educational fraternity who empowered generations of learners with his knowledge, creativity, and innovation.
The day’s programme commenced with a solemn floral tribute offered by the management and members of the administration, teaching faculty from all the wings of MIER. Student representatives also joined in expressing their gratitude to the visionary founders.
The event unfolded with a school song performed by the choir of Model Academy. Students and teachers presented poetic expressions of gratitude by eulogizing the inspiring lives of the founders and learning lifetime lessons for the present generation.
The students from Model Academy School who participated in the UDAY Start-Up Ideation, a national-level competition organized in association with MIET were honoured on this occasion. The students won cash prizes for their outstanding start-up ideas under the mentorship of Prince Sharma. Himangi Sharma, Tarushi Sharma, and Atharva Gupta emerged as winners, while Armaan Gupta received a consolation prize.
Chairperson Dr Renu Gupta highlighted the enduring vision set by the Founders and emphasized the importance of rededicating ourselves to push the boundaries further and higher. She encouraged everyone to celebrate the Founder’s Day with pride, unity, and a renewed passion for the transformative power of education.
