MIER College of Education organizes Inter-Section Sports Meet

JAMMU, Apr 16: Inter-Section Sports Meet was organized by the Co-curricular Committee of MIER College of Education at its BC Road Campus, here today.
On this occasion, Volleyball and Badminton matches were played with great enthusiasm and commitment by the students of the College.
The Meet was inaugurated by Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Renu said that sports and games are an integral part of school curriculum.
The students from all the wings of the College participated in large number.
Dr Annie Koul, HoD B Ed Department along with the staff members and the students witnessed the sports event and encouraged the participants.
In the boys Volleyball competitions, Section B led by Anchal Singh thrashed Section C led by Rajinder Singh to win the title, while in girls Volleyball matches, Section C led by Nidhi Jamwal prevailed over Section A captained by Sangeeta Rani to win gold.
Doubles as well as singles Badminton matches were also held section wise in which Section B (Boys team) represented by Vishal, Anchal, Anuj and Tenzin defeated Section A represented by Salman, Rajeshwar, Faizan and Ranjeet in the finals. In the girls final match, Section E represented by Sakshi, Premla, Subhadra and Priyanka took over Section B represented by Reena, Deepika, Varinda and Shivangi to claim gold.
Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER encouraged the students by his presence and motivating words.
The programme was organized by Dr Reeta Dwivedi, Incharge Games and Sports Unit, under the supervision of Usha Chunni, Sports Officer MIER along with Ramandeep and Manish.
