JAMMU, Dec 24: As a culmination of the Adolescent Education programme for the students of 8th class of Model Academy, a group counseling session was organized by the Center for Women Studies (CWS), MIER College, here today.
Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER presided over the session.
During the session, various queries of the students were answered to by the panel comprising of Angela Gadroo, Assistant Professor MIER College of Education; Dr. Bharti Tandon, Assistant Professor MIER College of Education; Bharti Bhalwal, Teacher Model Academy; Jasleen Mohial, Coordinator Model Academy; Auditi Malhotra, Assistant Professor MIER College of Education; Prince, Teacher Model Academy and Monika Rathore, Coordinator CWS.
The queries were based on the various issues of adolescence such as dealing with stress, application of life skills, finding real happiness, health problems during adolescence and handling of aggression.
These queries were raised during the workshop on adolescence education programme conducted for them. The panel successfully handled the questions with utmost care and sensitivity by giving them day-to-day examples and suggesting different life skill exercises.
The students were also told about the importance of Power Model and application of SWOT Analysis for inculcating decision making skills.
Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER lauded the efforts of the Centre for taking up such initiatives for the benefit of students.
She emphasized more such sessions to be organized in the future to provide the students a platform to share their queries, feelings and ideas with others.
