JAMMU, Aug 20: MIER College of Education organized the Research Awards-2021 for its faculty members wherein Prof Rajni Kant, Director College Development Council, University of Jammu, was the chief guest and Dr Renu Gupta, chairperson MIER was guest of honour, here today.
Prof Adit Gupta, Director MIER, and Principal MIER College presided over the function, whereas other faculty members including Rupa Gupta, Prof NR Sharma, Prof HR Shan, Dr Mool Raj and Dr Ronika Sharma were present during the event.
Prof Adit Gupta welcomed the chief guest and introduced him to the audience as a renowned researcher and an outstanding teacher. He is acclaimed both nationally and internationally for his research work and publications in the field of Physics.
Dr Nishta Rana, Head, Centre for Educational Research, presented the research report for the year 2020-21 during which the faculty published 30 research papers in national and international journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. The faculty has presented 13 papers at national and international conferences and also in seminars. In addition, the faculty attended 600 webinars and online workshops.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Renu Gupta emphasized that as a researcher one needs to reflect on their growth and improvement, besides focusing on the applicability of the research. She said quality in research is more important than quantity or number of publications.
The Research Awards were presented to 12 faculty members of the College and an amount of Rs 54000 was given away as prize money along with a citation.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Rajni Kant congratulated all the awardees and hoped that the institute can further build on its research capabilities. He said that giving incentives and recognizing efforts always motivates us to strive for higher achievements in life.
Dr Bharti Tandon presented vote of thanks, while Eesha Sharma, Librarian conducted the programme.
