MIER organizes Alumni Meet

JAMMU, Aug 16: An Alumni Meet was organized by the Alumni and Placement Committee, MIER College of Education with the purpose of bringing all the alumni on a single platform for both exchanging of new ideas and professional development, here.
The College has the distinction of producing more than 10000 trained professionals during the past 36 years.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Principal and Vice Chairperson MIER was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER, Dr NR Sharma, Dean Academic MIER College, Dr. Annie Kaul, HoD B.Ed General, Rohnika Sharma HoD B.Ed Special Education along with the faculty members were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Sumita Jamwal, B.Ed student presented welcome address.
A picture slideshow was shown to the alumni depicting different activities and group photographs of previous batches followed by an impressive cultural program by the present batch of students.
More than 75 alumni from B. Ed, B. Ed. Special (ID) and M. Ed. from the session 2015-17 attended the meet. They shared the rigorous two-year B. Ed. curriculum and training which helped them grow as an individual and also as a teacher to meet the expectations of the profession which is moving towards skill development of teachers in a big manner. They recalled the visits to different institutes like DIET, SIET, Village Panchayat etc. which gave them an over view of the field i.e. Teacher Education.
Additionally, an orientation about the National Assessment and Accreditation Council was provided to the alumni, which highlighted their role and contributions as the alumni towards the institution.

Dr. Renu Gupta, in her address, said that the alumni meet is a home coming for the former students where they can reminisce about their experiences in the college and share their achievements in life. She highlighted the role of alumni in the meteoric rise of the institute as they form an integral part of it and always pay back by working hard and shine in their areas of work.
Anjali Sharma, an M.A. Education student extended a formal vote of thanks, while the program was successfully conducted by Suvidha Jamwal, B.Ed. 3rd semester student.
