MIER organizes annual prize distribution function

JAMMU, June 16: Co-curricular Committee of MIER College of Education organized annual prize distribution function.
On the occasion, Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions was the chief guest, whereas Dr Renu Gupta, Director and Principal MIER was the guest of honour. Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Dr Annie Koul, HoD BEd General, Rohnika Sharma, HoD BEd Spl Edu along with the faculty and the students of MIER College of Education attended the event.
Dr Annie Koul presented the welcome address.
The students who excelled in different activities and sports events during the session were awarded with certificates and medals.
Among the awardees were the best all round student, best NSS volunteer, best student in cultural events, most regular student, best AV aid, etc.
Prizes were given away for other events which were held during the session like “Resurgence 2015” at SMUDU, “I-Survive” Adventure Camp at Patnitop, “Lokrang Mahotsav” at University of Jammu, essay writing competition, symposium, poetry recitation, quiz, debates, etc.
In all about 150 certificates and 36 medals were awarded to the students.
Dr Arun Gupta said that it always feels great when one’s efforts are recognized and this motivates one to strive for higher achievements in life. Here at MIER the efforts of each individual are appreciated. He reminded them that these certificates and medals are memoirs of the college and will remain with them throughout their lives.
Dr Gupta urged the students to work hard and try to achieve greater goals in academics and other areas and be role models and ambassadors of the college.
Some of the students shared their experiences in the college.
The programme was conducted by Sanjana Manchanda and Shubham Soni, students of BEd.
In the end, Komal Sharma, Convener Co-Curricular Committee presented vote of thanks.
