MIET wins Ricoh Education Excellence Award

JAMMU, Feb 23: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) was recognized as the Best Institution for Enabling Technology in Student Services at the Ricoh Education Excellence Awards in a glittering ceremony held at a hotel in New Delhi.
MIET received the award in recognition of the development and implementation of the Performance Insight 360 analytics framework, which tracks, benchmarks and helps enhance student, faculty and institutional performance. Two patents have been filed by MIET to protect the intellectual property generated during the design and development of the PI 360 software.
Prof Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET accepted the award from Manoj Agarwal, MD, Ricoh India and Prof SS Mantha, former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Other institutions which were nominated along with MIET in the same award category included SRM University, TERI University, PSIT College and Marathwada University.
Thus, for a private institution from Jammu to be adjudged better than some of the top institutions across India in technology adoption is a matter of great pride for MIET and the entire State of J&K. A total of 136 nominations were received from all over India. Some of the institutions which won awards in other categories included IIT-Delhi and BITS-Pilani Hyderabad.
MIET has been at the forefront on innovation in the State of J&K with 12 patents filed and over 350 research papers published in recent years. In 2015, MIET was adjudged as the Best Institution in North India by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh.
