Migrants concern over denial of ration for last 3 months

JAMMU, Aug 30: Kashmiri migrants have urged the UT Government to release the ration to the relief holders which has been stopped three months back for unknown reasons.
In an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha the displaced people from Valley sought his immediate intervention in the matter and urged him to issue the directives to concerned authorities to ensure that there is no further delay in supply of ration to migrant relief holders who are facing lot of hardships for the same.
According to Sunil Pandita and Vijay Koul social activists of Jagti township the distribution of ration to migrants has been stopped for last three months due to which they are facing many hardships. They said the displaced people totally dependent on Government relief are unable to purchase the ration from the market on meager cash assistance as the prices of other essential commodities of daily use have skyrocketed. They said stopping of ration supply among the migrants by the Government for unknown reasons has been a cause of concern for the displaced people from Valley who are the worst sufferers of 33 year long turmoil and till date the Government has failed to rehabilitate them in their homeland Kashmir. They wanted to know that how long the community will face this ordeal.
