UDHAMPUR, July 21: Agitated over extremely bad condition of roads, members of the Matador Union Udhampur observed a one-day strike and also held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
The protesting Matador operators raised slogans against Government and for repair of all link roads of Udhampur town, which are badly damaged due to heavy rains and not fit for transportation.
The demonstration was held under the leadership of Darshan Kumar, president of the Matador Association Udhampur.
The protesters were pacified by SHO Udhampur Arjun Singh Chib, who assured that their demand would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate and necessary action.
