JAMMU, Dec 2: Satish Sharma, Minister for Sports, expressed strong support for visually impaired cricketers during his visit to the selection trials organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind Jammu and Kashmir (CABJK). The trials, held at Green Field ground in Jammu, aimed to select the top 14 players for the upcoming Nagesh Trophy, scheduled in Hyderabad from December 23 to 27.
Sharma lauded the players for transforming their disability into their strength, calling them “the real heroes of life.” He assured them of continued support to help them excel on the national stage. With around 50 visually impaired cricketers participating in the trials, this marks the seventh consecutive year that Jammu and Kashmir will compete in the Nagesh Trophy. Ajay Kumar, General Secretary of CABJK, highlighted the region’s dedication to inclusive sports and the team’s consistent success in national events since 2018.
