Mir meets Azad, discusses issues of J&K

NEW DELHI, Sept 23: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Ghulam Ahmed Mir met the LOP in the Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and discussed the current situation and organizational affairs of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir discussed the overall situation in J&K and several issues faced by the people of different sections especially the COVID situation and the issue of educated youth, due to the present policies of the Centre Government and UT administration.
He apprised the LOP about the worsening situation of COVID-19 in J&K and the shortage of adequate facilities and manpower in various hospitals across the regions and need to further improve the conditions on war footing.
Mir also discussed the issues faced by different cross section of society on account of political and security environment for the last more than one year coupled with lockdown and the ongoing COVID situation.
The Congress leaders also discussed political situation and organizational affairs and the difficulties faced by the party cadres due to “the indifferent attitude of the present dispensation especially in the matter of proper security to the Congress leaders and functionaries” including in the vulnerable areas.
