Guangzhou, Sept 25: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Swiss great Martina Hingis reached the women’s doubles final of Guangzhou Open here today.
The Indo-Swiss combine just took an hour and 12 minutes to prevail the Israeli-Swedish combination of Julia Glushko and Rebecca Peterson 6-3, 6-4 at the Guangzhou International Tennis Center. Earlier, the top seeds thrashed German-Romanian pair of Anna-Lena Friedsam and Monica Niculescu 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals to advance into the semis of the tournament. (UNI)
