MLA Chenani tours rain affected areas

UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: For on spot assessment of the damages caused due to heavy rains, MLA Chenani Krishan Chander Bhagat conducted an extensive tour of affected areas like Seri, Dudu Kirchi, Latti etc.
The MLA was informed that two houses were completely damaged and many others were hit due to heavy landslide which also damaged whole length of road, constructed recently under PMGSY.
Mr Bhagat visited all the families whose houses were damaged. From his Constituency Development Fund, he announced Rs 1 lakh to the each affected family and Rs 20,000 to a single person whose house was also collapsed in this calamity for immediate relief.
During the spot visit, Mr Bhagat telephonically contacted the Minister for Roads and Building Abdul Majid Wani for more relief to the affected persons.
Pertinent to mention that due to heavy rains in this region, several areas of Chenani Assembly constituency, including  Dudu, Chenani, Ghordi, Pancheri, Udhampur suffered damages like house collapse, washing away of roads and  crops.
During the visit, the MLA was accompanied by Tehsildar Ramnagar, Revenue officials and prominent people of the area besides party workers.
