JAMMU, Mar 4: MLA Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir, has urged the Government to provide free accommodation and ration for passengers and people who are stranded due to closure of Srinagar-Jammu and Jammu-Doda-Kishtwar Highways since last few days.
In a statement issued today, Yawar Dilawar asked the Government to arrange free air sorties to carry stranded passengers from Jammu to Srinagar and Ladakh. He said the stranded passengers at Jammu who mostly include labour class have been left penniless due to continued blockade of National Highways in the State and are facing tremendous hardships for want of food and shelter.
He has also stressed upon the Border Roads Organization and National Highways Authority to improve and upgrade the Srinagar-Jammu Highway on war footing keeping in view its dilapidated condition.
