SAMBA, Sept 16: Three days inter Block & District level Rural Sports Meet organized by the department of Youth Services and Sports under the Rajeev Gandhi Khel Abhiyan was declared open by MLA Samba Dr D.K. Manyal today.
About 160 players from different areas of the district will compete in the matches of Khabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Badminton and Athletics during the competition.
SSP Samba Joginder Singh and ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma were the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dr Manyal interacted with the players and exhorted on importance of sports in shaping the overall personality of an individual. He asked the player to compete with true sportsmanship and strive hard to achieve success.
Among others DYSSO Subash Bhardwaj, ZPEO’s Raghubir Singh,Vijay Singh, B.D Sharma, Pardeep Singh and Rakesh Verma were present on the occasion.
