JAMMU, Apr 3: Modern Montessori International (MMI) Preschool, Jammu conducted a workshop for its teachers as well as parents here today.
Head, Franchise Support, Pooja Kher (BSc, MCA, BEd and Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Montessori Method), was invited to train the teachers. She is an ardent Montessorian with more than 12 years of experience. She has trained more than 500 teachers in Montessori concepts and materials.
Pooja imparted training to teachers on Montessori materials and pedagogy. On the occasion, she also made the parents aware of the benefits of Montessori methodology and answered all of their queries. She also dwelled in detail about the impact of this methodology on the personality of children.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the School, Pragya Gupta stated that the workshop was very beneficial for all the teachers, who have been familiarized with new Montessori techniques. “The interaction has helped to further enhance the skills of our faculty members and will be made part of the teaching curriculum”, she added.
Director MMI, Sapna Rohmetra expressed gratitude to Pooja Kher for conducting the detailed workshop about Montessori methodology and expressed confidence that these techniques would be used to improve the learning experiences of children. “Similar workshops will also be held in future”, she assured the faculty members.
Modern Montessori Jammu is conducting Montessori Teacher’s training programme on regular basis and teachers from MMI Jammu are sent to Delhi for training programme. Even during pandemic times Montessori training workshops were conducted online as MMI Jammu believes that only a trained Montessori teacher can properly implement Montessori education using the specialized learning equipment of the Montessori “prepared environment”.
Montessori trained teachers are dedicated towards developing the full potential of the child and creating in him/her the zest for learning.
