Model Academy celebrates Founders’ Day

JAMMU, Feb 5: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER celebrated Foundation Day in its premises, here today. Having completed 82 glorious years, the school an epitome of its motto, ‘Excellence in Education’ has made its founders late HL Gupta and Shanti Gupta proud of its achievements.
To mark the occasion a special assembly was organized and rich tributes were paid to the founders by students and staff members of the school.
The chief guest, Dr Adit Gupta, Director MIER and the guest of honour Rupa Gupta, Joint Director, MIER along with Pramod Srivastava Principal, JK Dhiman, Vice Principal were present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with the homage of floral tributes to the founders of the school followed by School song ‘We are Proud Modelities’.
Dr Adit Gupta, Director MIER in his address cherished the strong determination of the founders, their dedication and their social commitment in building an institution par excellence.
He further elaborated how the vision of founders has been translated into action by transforming MIER into a hub of educational excellence, innovation, research and creative talent.
Dr Adit Gupta honoured the students who had excelled in different sports events at the National level.
Best house of the year was awarded to Einstein House and runners’ up trophy to Edison House.
Dr Arun Gupta, Chairman MIER and Dr Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson MIER congratulated the staff and students on the occasion.
In his message Dr. Gupta stressed upon the students to contribute to the society by excelling in all fields and making the institution proud of their achievements. Earlier, Poonam Gupta, member of Newton House extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries.
Madhvi presented a formal vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Masarat of class 8th and was coordinated by Anita Koul and Gurmeet Kaur, In-charges of the Newton House.
