Model Academy hosts Gandhi Global Meet for UN Collaboration Projects

JAMMU, May 19: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER today hosted the UN Collaboration Gandhi Global Meet of the Jammu Chapter in its campus.
11 reputed schools of Jammu joined hands in collaboration with UN Information centre to promote 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Padamshree SP Varma, Vice-president Gandhi Global Family was the chief guest, who was accompanied by Dr Seema Rohmetra and Dr Sapna Sangra, Coordinators Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu Chapter, Rupa Gupta, Joint Director MIER and PK Srivastava, Principal Model Academy as the guests of honour.
KK Sharma-Advisor IIIM, Dr Rajender Thappa, CMO-GMC, Dr Rajneesh Khajuria, Assistant Professor, The Law school, The University of Jammu, Dr Vikram Handa, Principal and Gurpreet Handa, Director of Tiny Tots school, Dinesh Gupta, Secretary Red Cross Jammu Region, Prof SS Balwal, Principal GDC Bhaderwah and Principals of other Schools also graced the occasion.
The objective of the meet was to bring schools together and to work on the goals allotted to them in order to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity. The schools made power point presentations of allotted goals like No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and being, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Climate Action, Life below Water, Life on Land and Partnerships for the goals.
While addressing the gathering Padamshree Varma spoke about the sustainable goals and also advised the schools to be focused and work with dedication for the achievement of the goals.
Principal PK Srivastava presented formal vote of thanks.
The Programme was anchored by Vasundhara Rajput, student of class 9th and welcome address was given by Pihu Jamwal, President of the Interact club of Model Academy.
