Model Academy organizes Patriotic Group Song Competition

JAMMU, Oct 25: Nationalism peaked and patriotism filled hearts as Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, hosted an Inter-School Patriotic Group Song Competition today at its campus.
Dr Arun K Gupta, chairman, MIER was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Renu Gupta, Director, MIER was the guest of honour..
Harish Kaila, music composer, Radio Kashmir, Jammu; Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal, Degree College, Bishnah and Prof.Anupama Sharma, HoD, music deptt Govt Degree College for Women, Parade were the judges of the competition.
Other Dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director, Rupa Gupta, Dr. Chitra Misra, Principal, Ruchika Gupta, Project Director Humming Buds, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal and Heads of Departments of various wings of MIER also witnessed the programme.

The programme commenced with “Deep Prajwalan” by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Eight prominent schools of Jammu namely, Banyan International School, Crescent Public School, Heritage School, KV No.1, Jodhamal Public School, K.V No.2 and Model Academy, participated in the event with utmost gusto and spirit of patriotism. The songs had to be original compositions. The budding singers sang beautiful compositions with great feeling and enthralled the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arun K Gupta said that it was a privilege for him to witness this event.
The competition was won by Model Academy School.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Rupa Gupta, while the programme was coordinated by Manju Wali, Convener Co-Curricular Committee and Amarjot Kour, Cultural Coordinator.
