SRINAGAR, Apr 18: A moderate earthquake rocked Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic today.
A Meteorological Department spokesman said that an earthquake of magnitude 5 on the Richter Scale rocked Srinagar and other parts of the Valley at 1042 hrs.
People rushed out of their homes in panic after the tremors which lasted few seconds. He said the epicenter of the tremors were in Ladakh region.
There was no immediate report of any loss of life or damage to property.
