Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath, Jaitley among BJP’s star campaigners for Himachal assy polls

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley are among the star campaigners of the BJP in the forthcoming Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh.
The list of 40 star campaigners of the BJP in the Assembly polls, which was released by the party on Sunday, also includes names of Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani, Health minister J P Nadda, External affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Ministers Uma Bharti and Thawar Chand Gehlot, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra SIngh Rawat, Mr Satpal Maharaj, senior BJP leaders Shanta Kumar and P K Dhumal, BJP spokesperson Sambir Patra and BJP leader Anurag Thakur.
Elections to the 68 member Himachal Pradesh Assembly will be held on November 9. While, the results will be declared on December 18. The BJP is hoping to wrest power from the Congress in the state.
The BJP on October 18 had released the full list of 68 candidates contesting for the elections. Several senior party leaders and heavyweights are in the fray with former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal contesting from Sujanpur. (AGENCIES)
